Get Involved

There are many different ways to support our work. From donating and fundraising to volunteering or working with us – together we can achieve zero tolerance of violence against women and children.

Donate

Donations we receive are vital for our services across Meath throughout the year. Fantastic people from businesses, schools, and community groups have supported us for many years through fundraising events and activities. These donations help provide critical services each year including counselling, play therapy for children and vital supplies for women in refuge. Event ideas include: sponsored walk, raffle, fashion show, coffee morning, dress down day – the possibilities are endless!

We can provide posters, ideas and help promote your event. If you are interested in supporting Meath Women's Refuge & Support Services please contact us on 046 9022 393

Please note we do not accept donations of secondhand clothes or toys for health and safety reasons. If you wish to donate physical items please ring ahead to check with the team 046 9022393. We welcome new toys and vouchers.

- Identifty local leaders to support social change
- Strenghen knowledge and skills to tackle DSGBV
- Encourage open and honest conversations. Meeting people where they are at.
- Directing the passion people have for their community towards action to make it a safer place for all.
- Influencing organisational practices, policy and legislations

Learn more

Learning more about the dynamics of domestic violence and abuse is a key first step on the journey to supporting survivors and creating a future free from dominance and abuse.  We can all benefit from taking the time to learn, understand and reflect. Starting conversations with friends and family members helps reduce stigma and create a culture where abuse of any form is not tolerated.

Listen to our podcast

You can listen to our Podcast series - Close to Home: Conversations about Domestic Violence. We developed this podcast because we believe talking about domestic and gender based violence is a crucial step to creating a society where violence against women is no longer tolerated. We hope listeners in Meath and beyond will tune in to the podcast as we break down the myths and explore the realities around domestic violence, learn from the experiences of survivors, and encourage anyone that needs support for themselves or a loved one, to come forward for help.

The podcast is available on all major podcast platforms (Apple, Spotify etc).

Volunteer

From time to time we receive generous offers from businesses and individuals offering their service for the women and children we support. Women and their children who are recovering from abuse have enjoyed an activity fun day or experience a professional therapy treatment thanks to local generosity from businesses in Meath. Please note, Garda vetting may be required.

If you would like to volunteer your time to help Meath Women's Refuge & Support Services please contact us on 046 9022 393.
